About BTA Counterboring System

BTA counterboring extends the deep hole drilling capability by allowing bore enlargement, bore finishing, and stepped bore creation within the same deep hole system. PROEDGE supplies counterboring heads in the 38–180 mm diameter range, covering standard boring head sizes (38, 40, 56, 86, 95, 110, and 180 mm). These heads mount on the same BTA drill tube system and machine connections — no tooling changes required. Counterboring is commonly applied after BTA drilling to achieve tighter tolerances on the bore diameter, create stepped bores for seating O-rings or seals, or to finish a rough-bored hole to a precision grade.
