About Indexable Drilling Inserts
Indexable drilling inserts bridge the gap between conventional twist drills and dedicated deep hole systems, delivering high feed rates at depths up to 5×D. PROEDGE stocks four series: SOMT for high-feed centre cutting, SPMG screw-on style, WCMT triangular inserts, and the 880-series P/C style for large drill bodies. Drill bodies cover 13–60 mm diameter in 0.5 mm steps at L/D-2, L/D-3, L/D-4, and L/D-5. Two insert positions (peripheral + central) share cutting load enabling feed rates 2–4× higher than equivalent solid carbide drills.
