About Boring Bars & Internal Tooling
Internal machining demands a different tooling philosophy than external turning — vibration, overhang, and chip clearance become the dominant challenges. PROEDGE supplies three boring bar families: steel shank (most economical, adequate damping up to 5×D), carbide shank (vibration damped, suitable to 10×D), and special small-diameter bars for bores from 5 mm. Threading bars (SINR/L) handle internal thread turning from 5 to 50 mm bore diameter. Clamp systems A, B, and M — all using the same inserts as external holders — are available across the range.
